50 Years of Service

Riley & Sons, Inc.

Fifty years ago a young man named R.A. Riley opened up a two car garage in downtown Anderson and hung out a shingle, Riley’s Body Shop. In the early days it was a simple two man operation. The company grew and in 1976 moved to its current location and into a larger building. It was at that time the company was renamed Riley and Sons Body Shop. In two years the company would expand again and add a 9 bay repair facility.

In 1986 the company would build a new repair center. The name would be changed to Riley & Sons Complete Uni-body and Collision Specialists. Then finally in 1998 a 4000 square foot state of the art paint center was added to the main building. Riley and Sons has a fully operational Service Department, Frame Center, and Collision Repair Facility totaling over twenty-four thousand square feet under roof, making them the largest collision repair center in Madison County.

R.A. Riley founded the business and intended to pass it on to his two sons, Tim and Troy. Sadly, Troy passed away in 1984, but Tim would work in the family business and eventually purchase the business from his father in 1994. In 2003, Tim would add a business partner, long time employee and personal friend Dave Driggers.

Today Tim and Dave lead Riley and Sons, Inc. into the future. Always a strong advocate of community involvement Riley and Sons is proud to be a part of the Anderson community and culture. Riley and Sons participates yearly in the Akzo Benevolence Program where they give away a car during the holiday season to a family in need, and also provides Scholarship Programs to help local trade-school students achieve their goals.

Riley and Sons, Inc. has been the recipient of numerous customer service and community awards. They have been voted Best Collision Repair Center of Madison County three times. They have been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Akzo Nobel. They have been honored to be among the top 10% in the country for Customer Service, and they have held I-Car Gold Class Ranking for Collision Repair for over the last 10 years.  The greatest testimonial however may be the tenure of their 26 employees. In a small family business it is often hard to keep quality people, but Riley’s has managed to do so and even recently honored three of their employees who reached the 25, 20, and 10 years of service plateau’s.

The leadership and employees of Riley and Sons are excited to celebrate fifty years in such a great community and would like to thank all of their friends, customers, and business partners who have been so instrumental in making the company what it is today. They look forward to continuing their partnership with the people of Anderson and Madison County in the years to come.
